Last Wednesday, on February 10, my brother Derek and his family were sealed together in the Logan, Utah temple. This has been such a blessing to me. I have always looked up to Derek and his wife Jenny, and have always loved babysitting their kids, Kaitlynd, Ethan, and Dylan. They have worked really hard preparing for this day and I am so proud of them and the decision they made.
I really admire Jenny. Even though she is my sister-in-law, she has only ever felt like an actual sister to me. One thing I really admire about her is her will power. She is always so motivated whether it be working out everyday, eating healthy, taking her kids to church every Sunday, doing such a good job helping me take charge of my wedding and putting it together, as well as many, many more things. She motivates me and makes me want to be a better person. Our family wouldn't be complete without Jenny.
I have always looked up to my older brother, Derek. Coming from a large family of eight children and me being number six of that eight, Derek is my only older brother. Some things I admire about Derek is his desire to learn and accomplish. He has done incredibly well in school, and next year will have his PHD in Electrical Engineering. He never settles for less but always does his very best, and with this makes him a good provider for his family. The other thing I admire about Derek is the love he has for his family. He has done such a good job building a relationship with each one of his kids and I have always admired how well Derek and Jenny work together.
I look up to Derek and Jenny so much. I am so grateful they decided to go through the temple so that they could be an eternal family. I am so grateful I went through the temple with Abe. I love the temple, and love knowing that that families can be together forever.
Oh Grace,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully written post. You gave both Derek and Jenny such sincere compliments. You do have a wonderful brother & sister-in-law in Derek and Jenny. I loved meeting them and seeing the famed wedding planner Jenny. How is Colorado? I hope you know I love you... because I surely do.

I thought of Derek and Jenny that whole week and was so excited for them. They are such a wonderful couple and I will never forget Kaitlynd taking charge at your reception.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post. When you said your family would not be complete about Jenny, I thought the same thing about you. I'm glad Jenny was/is such a powerful example to you. . . to us all, really. I look forward to more meetings with her and Derek.
You are SO sweet! I am so lucky to have you! Derek and I both wish you could have been there. It was such an awesome experience. I cannot even explain it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being you! I love you, call me!!
I guess I'm behind here....you moved? To Colorado? Congratulations to Derek and Jenny. I'm happy for your family.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd live to go see those caves. I loved the caverns in New Mexico. I could have been a bat in another life.....

What a great experience for your brother and for you. I'm behind too...Colorado? Do you love it? We are still waiting for our orders but are hoping to be in the Springs in December. Let me know if you haven't found Costco yet. I could direct you there in my sleep. I really miss that store.
